While by no means every person who doesn’t ship Swan Queen is homophobic (there are lots of lovely people who prefer other ships, but aren’t anti-gay), we do still need to acknowledge that in some cases, homophobia and especially heteronormativity does play a strong role in people’s feelings about the ship.  I’ve included a few sample tweets, having blurred out the original tweeters name because I don’t want to encourage bullying toward them either—I just want people to be aware that this issue is not in people’s heads; it actually exists.
